Scribd Extension for BlogEngine.NET

The fckeditor in the BlogEngine framework seems to work differently than the standard fckeditor out of the box.  If you attempt to embed certain objects, the editor removes most of the tag when you update the HTML.  I've been using the blogengine for a few days so I can not explain what the reasoning is for this but I've come up with a solution that adapts Al to embed Scribd.com documents into your posts.

NOTE:  This is working with Blogengine.net 1.4.  I believe it may not work with blogengine.net 1.6.  I've read the 1.6 documentation and it looks lilke they have changed the extentionmanager class and this may need to be updated, but I have yet to find the time to look at it.   If this is not working for you, please let me know.

Installation directions:
Download and uzip the scribd.cs file into your Extensions folder located in your App_Code folder

Usage:
All you have to do is find and press the advanced link on scribd.coms embed and share info. From there,, there is a wordpress code section. That is the code you need to paste into your posts. I suggest you use the copy button provided by scribd to copy it to your clip board and then paste it into your post.

Send me and email or comment on this blog if you need help.

Enjoy.

Example:
Create a new entry and add this code to insert and embedded a scribd
document to your blog [*scribd id=23859366 key=key-1jpmqhncapnkq0a6dlkz*] (without the astricks *).

This extension is now editable.

Or maybe I don't understand completely. are you using the down loadable widget on your own site or are you talking about the widget being used on my own site?  Maybe the down loadable widget has a bug?  I'll have to check that out.
